Elon Musk wants Tesla on-board computers to support the Steam game library
Tesla electric cars are gradually turning into a gaming platform on wheels. If earlier it was about porting individual projects, like Cuphead or Stardew Valley, now Musk is talking about supporting the entire Steam library.
The billionaire mentioned this when answering a question about Cyberpank 2077 on the Modex S and Modex X models. According to Musk, it is more promising to work on supporting all Steam games at once than to transfer them one by one.
Theoretically, Tesla electric cars should be compatible with the Steam library. There are several reasons for this:
Tesla electric car dashboards are based on Linux. Just like SteamOS for Steam Deck.
The laptop and Model S are powered by AMD’s RDNA2 chip – a similar architecture should help tailor EV designs.
When the Mask’s plan will come true is not yet known. One thing you https://jiji.ng/20-tables/dining definitely don’t have to worry about is support for Cyberpank 2077. Musk praised CD Project Red for Night City’s art style under her tweet thanking the community.
We’re working through the general case of making Steam games work on a Tesla vs specific titles. Former is obviously where we should be long-term.
